Washington County Thrives is a cross-sector collaborative that works to reverse the rapid growth of poverty in Washington County by improving access to essential resources that help establish a foundation of long-term economic security.

Our Focus

Increase support for proven strategies that break the cycle of poverty and strengthen economic vitality in Washington County.

Our Priorities

Washington County Thrives (“Thrives”) has agreed upon three areas of focus that will have the greatest impact on reducing poverty and increasing economic vitality, as follows:

1. Safe, stable and affordable housing

2. Workforce development

3. Early learning opportunities

These priorities include essential support services, such as health and wellness care, youth programs, and child care that help ensure stability and increase the likelihood of successful, sustainable outcomes.

Primary Strategy

Develop and launch a campaign to raise awareness and build broad-based support to break the cycle of poverty through a comprehensive, long-term investment strategy in concert with Thrives’ priorities.

Secondary Strategy

Garner increased short-term investment in proven programs and initiatives in concert with Thrives’ priorities.
